Hi there

Am in need of some advise from you clever folks out there.I own a 1984 cosalt piper 1400l and need to refurb the suspension.I realise that parts for the old girl are probably rare as hens teeth, and also realise that only ALKO will probably be able to refurb the axle (if they still stock the parts).

Bearing in mind the age and value of my van,i would like to know if anyone out there has any info regarding diy repairs, mods etc.I have thought about a second hand axle and also about the possibility of fitting conventional shock absorbers as replacements.Any help would be greatfully recieved from you guys as i dont think spending £300-400 would be justified considering the vans age.

On the other hand, considering the amount we paid for her and the pleasure we,ve had in the short time we.ve been touring,we'd like to do everything we can to keep her going a wee while longer.

Hope you can help.

steve e
