I have finished with my caravan now for this season so can anyone point me in the right direction of what I need to do to ensure that the caravan is in good use for next year. It will be stored outside so I will rope a tarpaulin over the top of it and I have place several damp traps inside it but do i need to grease anything etc or anything else I may need to do...Many thanks
I be carefull about using tarpaulin if i was you could damage van or windows, drain your water from heater and toilet, open all taps, remove wheels if possible, bowl of salt helps for condesation, i myself get mine serviced so all other bits are sorted out then, if outside and nice day would help to open skylights now and then to air (remember to shut them)
You need to have a breathable cover, also don't bother servicing it until spring just before your ready to use it again. Store all bedding on end, and leave all cupboard and any doors open for airing, and after draining all the water leave the taps open, also store with the handbrake off, so it doesn't seize on over winter.
Best way imho to prevent problems is to use it in the winter Nothing better than going for a bit of sight seeing on a cold day and coming back to a cosy caravan

Thank you so very much for all your replies. I now know what to do to ensure my caravan is looked after. The guy who stores it for me has told me I can access it whenever I want over the winter so will pop along once a month to give it a bit of care. It is only an old caravan but has been so good to us this season I want to look after it for next year.
