Hi to all you folks in the repair club, I hope someone can help us out with this prob please.
We are repairing a damp Eccles. Window seals had been replaced badly at some point in the past - reasult will be as you have seen many times - wallboard and internal struts at front end had to be replaced along with new window seals - We have looked at everyones repair info and followed all instructions- brilliant thank you all for the background assistance.
Now however we are trying to solve another prob.
The central window was full of condensation - one of the little bungs was missing - so we have dried that out - gotta nice window that you can see through now -but found that the internal panel was coming away from the outer along the top edge .
This needed sealing so we got the proper perspex window glue from a company and glued the flat internal piece back to the shaped external bit - good runny stuff that is clear and dries clear too -you put in with a syringe so it goes where you want if you have the window flat.
OK that done now comes the questions
Q. Do you have to suck air out of the void between the two window panels before sealing the bung hole or do you push air in????
Q. If we just seal the bung hole now do you think that will have stopped the condensation between perspex problem ????
Q. Do you think a blob of glue from the glue gun will make a suitable bung????
------------- Here one minute - gone the next.
