are you "allowed" to do this it just seems there are no sockets at the front of my van at all apart from where the TV goes so I have to resort to having a bank of sockets on an extension.
This is only to use a TV with a DVD player for my grandson, or for me to use a hair dryer near the mirror or put a lamp on the front shelf.
Obviously not all at once...
So can i do this, is it easy, could it be done by myself???

another way to do it is to get a 3 point face and back box from B&Q and then all you need do is open the hole in the unit where the existing socket is and re connect the original wires.
Was thinking of doing that Als, would make it easier cheers...its only for the dvd when I take grandson away with me and to be able to leave tv plugged in (obviously not on as well) there are just long wires that once I get them hidden away it would be nice to keep them there...
Are all vans different cos mine only has 2 sockets in total, doesnt seem like many others I have seen have at least 4??
some come with the standard fit of two sockets and other have three ( like mine) manufacturers know that you will add sockets when and where you want them as a personal thing so couldnt cater for everyone they just put in the nessessary.
As a guide price, how much would it cost one of those blokes who come to your house and fit an extra socket to your van. I wouldn't want to touch the electrics myself, even though I could probably do it by reading a manual. Our van is only 8 months old.
