Hi we picked up our new to us caravan this week and we have been trying it out at home to see how they work. The only problem we have encountered is that we don't seem to be able to get the gas into the caravan. We have a 2005 Lunar Freelander which is based on the Lexon, it has the bulkhead regulator with a guage and we have 7kg butane bottles which I bought new today. We have turned the valves on in the front locker and also the taps in the caravan for the fride, cooker and heater but still can't hear the hissing. Can anyone help?
It takes longer than you expect for the gas to get through all the way to the cooker.
Also, you might need to hold the valves down on one of the rings to allow the gas to start feeding through. I never hear hissing, I just wait for the smell
like tykey said, just wait, by keeping the valves in on the cooker, but try lighting at the same time, u wont hear hissing, just the smell. and the fridge takes ages to get the gas through.

Its not a hangover, its wine flu!
We've been out and held the valves open for about 5 mins but no smell of gas. When I put the connector on the bottle the tap is horizontal I then move it to the vertical.
You cannot have a bulkhead mounted regulator and a bottle type regulator. You must sort this first.
Secondly and very simply.Make sure that the glass hob cover is pushed all the way back.It might sound stupid but even a small amount forward will close the gas off.

Sorry it's the yellow bulkhead fitting and the pigtail connector. I have spoken to the person we bought from and he said we are doing everything correctly but he hasn't used the gas for a year so maybe this has something to do with it.
has to be purged of air put all burners on for a minute then turn off for a few minutes to build pressure back up and then try again .. repeat as required ..
i think you problem maybe that you just have to apply downward pressure on the gas bottle connector as you turn it's lever and allow a few seconds for the gas to reach the burners and ignite. Make sure all associated gas taps are on.
we had this problem on site not so long back. It got so bad we called our dealer and then felt absolutely stupid because it was as simple as the fact that we had not got the cooker lid up far enough. Our cooker lid has a safety cut out so that when it shuts it turns the gas off.. hence we could not get the fridge to light.....
I simply thanked the dealer, blamed my OH and put the phone down....
Just a suggestion that it may be something as basic as that...
