Hi all i got a split in my roof window, in my bathroom. i have a elddiss cyclone 5 berth 1993 and need the part that is on the roof only, the rest of it is ok, any idea what one i need and where from? i have seen they on ebay but the ones i have seen are the compleat set, i only need the plastic rof bit, i also cannot get on the roof to measure it.

any help would be great thanks

Hi michael and thanks for the advice but could you confirm for me that what i think is correct, if i go inside van and take tape up to inside part of the opening and measure the inside of it( the hole ) i just measured it and it is 10 inch  by 10 inch or 260x 260mm the smallest i have seen is 280x280,am i measuring correct or have i done it wrong again lol.

Thanks i am finding it more difficult as i broke my wrist on tuesday night.

Have you tried www.caravanbreakers.net. They are in Blaenavon and a real alladdins cave of caravanning goodies.

do not know of 260x260 size,more inclined to think it was the 280x280.these people do just the dome bit if thats all you need

Thanks for the advice guys, i think it must be 280x280 as i have not found any that are smaller, i do only need the dome so will try your link michael, i have rang the place that place in Bleanavon, they are now in gehilaron indust est. and they do have lots of stuff there but they did not have a dome, only new compleat roof sky light.

most places i have seen do just the domes (although most come with new handles too)

you might have to buy the complete thing, however just unscrew the handles and fit it from there, no need to remove interior part unless the sealant is bad on the outside then you might aswell kill 2 birds with one stone

Most large caravan shops stock them, those sort have been
standard on caravans since the 80s & are still fitted to
new 'vans. Unwise to buy secondhand as old ones get
brittle & break. Take your old one to a shop & match it
up, you can buy just the hatch & it is complete with
handles & spring mechanism. To remove old one, remove the
4 tiny screws where they hinge but you will have to get up
to roof to remove/refit from top. Put new one on top of
roof hole & then refit screws from inside caravan, its
that easy.

As Michael says you have to measure the actual hole for the skylight and that means taking off the fittings from inside the van then measure the hole..
