I have just brought a new caravan aand have found a damp area behind the bottom curtain rail located about half way up the N/S corner. Part of the curtain rail came free from the wall as the screws had rusted so much that they broke free.
The area surrounding the rail seems to be free from damp and the window frame is dry. although under the front of the caravan the thin batten that attaches to the edge of wood in the corner has rotted. although the main floor is in excellant condition.
I am only planning to keep the van for a couple of years so will it be ok just reseal the outside, thus fix the leak and replace the strip of batten near the front. Also is sleeping in a slightly damp caravan bad for your health. Should i possibly use a dehumidifier.
Cheers Adrian.
