We have an IDM 2 alarm in our van thats not working. I wondered if anyone knew weather the idm 4 controle box would be compatible with the old system ie: the old plugs from the keypad fittng the new box etc.

Thanks  Andy

It probably just needs a new internal 12v 1.2ah battery. My IDM alarm was the same when I bought my van, located the box in a cupboard under a shelf very carefully drilled out the pop rivets and replaced the battery it was £8 at a home alarm shop and all was well alarm fully working. DO NOT let the drill bit go deeper than 1/8th of an inch and only drill out the rivets holding the two halfs of the case together. I also have the instructions for these alarms if you are requiring any.

Thanks for the advice. I have taken the box to bits and got a new battery, but looking at the curcuit board, alot of the copper lines have partly dissapeard, so I don't know if that is causing the problem. I am just going to put it in with the new battery and see if it works.

 Thanks again

Andy

Just put it all back together and yes the battery was shot. It did certain functions but not all so as I thought the pcb is no good.
