My in laws used my van ( abbey aventura 320 2005) last weekend and they say that my hot water is not working, it was ok when i left it the previous weekend. They tell me the tank is full and the water heater light is on in the cupboard. As im not going to the van for another week ( its sited by the way ) I was wondering if anyone could give me some idea of what the problem could be... im relatively new to caravanning and not yet come across any problems.

Hi

My van was heating water on gas but not electric.  Turns out the carver heater has a seperate trip switch that will trip to prevent overheating or when the unit is powered on without any water on it.

Reset the trip and all is now fine!

My Abbey has a cut out that operates if the elecric waree heater is switched on but no water in heater. It will not re set until the water heater has been switched off for 10 mins allowing the cutout to cool down. Hope it is as easy to fix as this.

Everything is now fine, i checked the fuse and then tried the gas, they were both ok. I then switched off the electric switch, waited ten minutes and now the hot water is fine.. Thanks all for advice
