i have a 6 month old caravan and on the last two occasions that i been in my caravan have noticed water gathering inside the van on both occasions it has rained heavily although it rained whilst towing could it be possible taht a new van could be leaking?
Your unlucky for your van to develop a problem so quickly considering the new materials available for sealing today, I presume you have taken it back for repair under the warranty. Whatever the area is that is leaking, insist on a proper reseal, dont accept a bit of mastic run along the area. If for example its the awning rail, make the dealer take the rail off completely and reseal and refit, its the only way for peace of mind, after all, you spent a lot of money.
You dont say where it is leaking, my friend towed a brand new caravan home & then parked it on his sloping drive & had water dripping from his Heki sun roof somehow water had manager to get under the roof light seal & because it was not parked level water dripped into the van. He has never had a problem since.
thanks for your replies, the 1st time i saw it i passed it it off as condensation build up i then but some dehumidifiers but on close inspection of the second bout which i may add was a considerable amount my instinct was no way was it condensation, i towed the van to a site on thursday then occupied the van on friday on opening the door there was a pool of water by the door and the wooden back of the side dinette when pushed down water was underneath it
There's a post on another forum, which, unfortunately, UKCS wont let me mention here, about a new Ace (Swift Group) which has/had the door seal leak, and which has turned out to be a bit of a nightmare for the owner to get repaired, so make sure you get it sorted properly ASAP.
