Hi all,

We're new to the tin tent thing having been hardened campers for years!  However, have just purchased a lovely little van and awning for us and our 3 sproglettes and was wandering about the servicing lark.

How often should you have your van serviced, is it like an MOT?  What does it get checked for, and where could we get it done?  I noticed on an advert that someone wrote their's was 100% dry - what does that mean?? Are services expensive?

Ta muchley in advance for any help and advice!

Zoe x

Hi most people get their vans serviced annually. The gas system ,breaks, fridge and damp checks are all part of a service so once a year gives peace of mind and may find problems that can be put right before they develop. Hope you get as much enjoyment out of your new caravan as we do .

Hi Zoe,

I'm fairly new to tin tops (2 years, frame tent for many years before that). This page may help you Click Here, the top picture (click on it to enlarge) gives a list of jobs carried out. The bottom picture is the cost.

If you want piece of mind have your van serviced annually,at an approved workshop. I think it is worth it to have the gas pressure check and appliance check and running gear serviced, then when they do the damp check it shows all the work you have to do!!

Cheers,

-------------
Lawrence
