Is it safe to ignore delamination if the floor underneath is solid ie no water ingress. I have looked at other forum posts, but no definitive answer is given.
Thanks for the advice, but i really dont mind the floor being slightly springy and only want to repair the floor if it have to (for safety etc) is it safe to leave the floor?
providing the floor does not bellow downwards its safe, but it WILL get worse as time goes on. delamination is when the ply comes unstuck from the foam in the centre.
Hi Adrian,
You can leave it, but it just gets worse and it spreads so that little repair turns into a major headache. And bear in mind the strenth of your floor is going. So it is best to tackle it, I did mine December 2006, still solid as a rock, this may help you to see what's involved, Click Here,
Cheers,
did mine with foam very easy just cut off when slightly hard jack support up under when finished put weight on floor leave all for 2 days brill job just don't over put foam as will bow when hard get some one to watch under when filling only need 6mm holes to suit foam trigger is a easy job when start messy
