Hi,
We operate a radius of some 50 miles, but that obviously doesn’t mean that all Mobile Fitters will go as far. What you have to appreciate about the NCC Approved Mobile Workshop Service Engineer is that they don’t have the same exuberantly high overheads as that of a dealership with large premises and many more staff. Which is why they charge much more for annual Services and hourly labour rates and why the Mobile Service Engineer’s service fee is much lower?
Thanks to Gordon Brown and his TAX happy cronies, our main monthly overhead is diesel. Obviously there are other annual fee’s that we have to pay like; Liability insurance, NCC Approval annual assessment fee’s, tools calibration and all the general running cost that go with operating a small business.
If you do decide to use that guy, or any other mobile engineer, please bear in mind the fact that most mobile guys diaries are normally fully booked for several weeks in advance, but that said, if someone calls with a minor sounding problem and we are in that area, we will always try and drop in when we are passing to have a look and to try and resolve the issue.
That, and the saving that you make on your fuel, our reduced labour charges and the fact that you get to watch the work being carried out, is why so many people are realising that the mobile service pays dividends. And obviously an Approved Mobile Workshop can service all new caravans to the same high standards as a main dealer.
Good luck and I hope that your problem is resolved soon.
