How much force is required to remove the heater cover on the Trumatic 3002.

The manual says pull the "top forward and lift up the retaining springs"

Am I missing somthing, as I cant see how this cover is removed.

Not wanting to put too much pressure on anything, as with my luck I will probably break something. Any ideas appreciated.

They can be very stiff, they are made of spring wire and are about an inch down just under the fire top and can be seen with a torch through the fist couple of grills.

It is then possible to lift them through the grill with a screwdriver to release some of the pressure

We are out in the rain in North Wales this week, so decided to put the time to good use and check out the gear.

fired it up on gas for the first time in ages, slight smell, so decided to look into getting rid of the dust thats gathered inside.

Look thro the grills with a torch , roughly about the center , look for a pozi screw , if you find one unscrew it ( mine was held by the screw as well as the side clips ) .

First question I came across? didn't notice the timing.

Anyway 'slight smell' if the fires new it may well be the flue seal making it, the fire simply needs to be left on a high setting for a few hours to 'bed' the seal in and get rid of the smell
