Well I shall be attempting my first repair job next week on my van, when I was there this week, the side strip and window came away, when I looked closer the screws were non excistent, they just crumbled away.

I have it taped up well at the min so no water can get in, but so far for the job I have bought, the mastic on a roll to bed it on, new screws, silicone sealant, a drill lol and I bought white spirit, but I am thinking Meths might be better?

Will I be needing anything else? It's a Compass Rallye GTE 1991 van but apart from a few little things that need doing it's in lovely condition.

I shall take pics as I am doing it, but no laughing as this is my first ever repair job.

Some rags and a plastic scraper to get old mastic off , you'll need both white spirit and meths , to see the reason why , have a read Here .
Take a few drill bits with you , as the screws can be quite hard to drill .
Do not try to prise the rail off if you have any screws still in place ( the rails bend easily ) .
Good luck with your repair , be great to see your pictures .
