I changed mine a couple of years ago.....watch out for the bolt that connects to the damper, you have to push it out with another bolt, so that you dont loose the damper position.
When you push the head in, to activate the brakes, the damper is what gives it resistance and stops it just banging in, it is pushing against the coupling head bolt, and if you knock the bolts out without catching the end of the damper with another pin, then it comes out further that the position of the hole. If this happens, it is not easy to push it back in to get the bolt back in!
I know that sounds a but mixed up but I am struggling to simplify it......if you get it wrong you will find out what I mean!!
Most of the coupling heads have an instruction manual online from the manufacturers websites, mine was an AKCO AKS 1300, and I got the instruction from Alko's website it explains it better with diagrams.
