All,

We have a 2005 Ranger, we have found some damp around the front window.  We found the water was getting in though a .5 inch long crack in the front panel.  Unfortunately the warranty is not transferable to a new owner so I do not think that it will be covered, I will be checking later on.  So I have a few questions.

A small area has gone spongy around the affected area. But the damp meter shows a larger area around to be damp, around 20 – 40 % damp, spreading out about a foot, then it returns to normal.

  • Will the none spongy areas dry out.
  • To fix the area I will need to change the wall board that is affected.
  • How do you cut the wall board that is not spongy, in a neat straight line.
  • Does the wall board come with the vinyl covering all ready on it.  Or does the vinyl come separately.
  • Where do I get the wall board or vinyl from.

All the best.

Peter.

Hi Peter , the non spongy area's may dry out imo .
You can normally cut the wall board with a sharp stanly knife and straight edge as the wallboard is only 3mm thick .
The wall board does come with the covering on it .
For where to get wall board have a look here

Many thanks, I found your website after I posted the question.  I have emailed two of the suppliers to see if they have a wall board match.

I have also asked Bailey if the work can be done under warranty as this cracking problem appears to be a problem with 2005 bailey rangers.  But I am the second owner and the warranty if none transferable.

Let’s see what happens.  I suspect I will get the classic fob off.
