Can anyone offer some advice here on changing a jockey wheel. I will ned to jack up the front of the caravan to reomve the Jockey wheel as there is a plastic cowling right over the A-frame to be able to unscrew the jockey wheel and remove it - but how do I jack up the caravan high enough at the front to do this. Has anyone done this and how do you do it? Many thanks

Mike's correct. Screw the front of the 'van up as high as you can, wind the legs down, release the screwed lever that you adjust the height of your j/w with, then just keep winding the top handle on the j/w, and the upper & lower halves will come apart. Remove the top part, and the bottom half can be removed underneath.
Thanks for the info, I was just concerned that I would not be able to lift the van up high enough at the front as the existing jockey is not working properly as when the weight of the van is on it I have problems unwinding it hence the reason to want to to replace as it I am having to physically lift the caravan myself to attach it to the car and the other week when I was away I managed to scratch the rear bumper of the car as the caravan rolled forward slightly and i could not hold it back. I suppose if I can't fully unwind the jockey wheel to lift the van at the front i could put a trolley jack under the jockey wheel and lift the van then put the steadies down.
thanks Dave.

In that case, when it comes to changing it, lift it as high as you can on the j/w, wind legs down, retract j/w, place bricks or wood below the j/w, and then repeat the sequence until you can get the 'van as high as you need to.
