Hi All

 The "printed wood" effect on the shelf below the front windows is starting to peel off probably due to my other half using CIF cleaner or similar. Any suggestions on making it good, varnish or similar?

there is no repair you can do,to try will make it worse and you will finish up with a white patch.try a clear varish if you think it needs it.if its peeling off check the shelf for damp as this is an indication.

Fablon will do it, I got mine from B&Q, however the trick is to match it as close as possible. One tip is to replace the whole area (rather than a patch) this way noone would ever know it was previously another shade of wood effect.
