We lifted the carpet in our van today to have a look at the floor as it felt as if a joint had come loose. We don't think that what we have is delamination after reading all of the topics on here about the subject. The fllor isn't spongy of bouncy at all, it just appears that where one floor panel comes up against another it has come loose on the edge. So my question is, what is the best way to deal with it? We were thinking of putting a few screws in along the edge of the joint, would this work?
I would squirt a bit of caravan adhesive between / underneath the two parts of the floor and then add some screws along the edge . Place a small amount of weight on the raised part of floor while the adhesive is curing .
hi follow wizards info, still think you have the start of delamination as the ply is lifting away from the insulation.to confirm this there should be a slight lip on the under side of the floor beneath the raised lip of ply,if not then the top ply lost its glue.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
Thanks, OH has done as you suggested Wizrad so we will see how it holds up, couldn't really lift the floor panel up much to get adhesive under there but got as much in as possible and then screwed it, it's now weighted so we will see how it is in the morning.
