Just bought our 1st van,a Perle Olympus, very clean no damp......or so i thought, checked all the problem spots as identified by expierienced vanners, thought we'd bagged a little gem. But,yep theres always a but,on opening the front window right out i found i'm standing there holding the frame, which has come out with the window,it looks as if water has been coming in from the top of the window. The van is in storage,no space at home, and the window has been well an truly sealed shut by me,this can only be temporary as its open to the elements, any advice on tackling this repair would be greatly appreciated

on opening the front window right out i found i'm standing there holding the frame, which has come out with the window.

Hi Lee , when you say the frame do you mean the window hanger as seen here http://www.1carpc.co.uk/wcdr/window-hanger-reseal.htm .
Do you have any pictures you could post on here or email to me . If not, could you get some .

older caravans were designed this way, ie.if you open the window FULLY the hinge will fall out of the rail.our bailey was like this.it is just possible that if you offer up the window to the rail at the same angle (90 deg) it may go back in.a full window can be very heavy and could need three persons to hold it steady.

Thanks for the replies.Sorry no pics,i was a bit distraught at that moment!!What i meant to write is that the rubber seal came out along with the window when i lifted it open, also its very wet,the rubber seal was pushed back into place but not properly and not at all on the inside of the van, hence the use of sealant on the exterior.

Hi Lee , the rubber seal has some plastic capping in the middle of it , if you remove the capping are there staples underneath ( see here http://www.1carpc.co.uk/wcdr/window-reseal-2.htm ) .

The interior wall board around the window area , is it soft if you press firmly with your fingers .
