We have a Compass Omega 484 with a Country Leisure Oven. It seems to be lacking in heat. Our oven chips stay soft and never crisp because the oven is hotter on the outside than the inside! Our chips would cook better in the cupboard next to it. Does anyone else out there have similar problems? If so is there an easy way to rectify this? We used to be able to cook a full sunday roast in our old Abbey Caravan.
Only used oven about 3 times, so it's clean inside and the seal seems fine, its the top and side that get hot, the veneer is bubbling aove the grill and inside the cupboard,
We hired a static last year with one of these ovens in it, it was crap! Nothing cooked properly, it was totally gutless. Our caravan is old and doesn't have an oven but we spent £150 on a decent Panasonic combi oven/grill/micro and that is superb. Just like a proper oven.
Our oven is the same, from a previous post of mine it looks like the thermocouple has failed. No matter how high the setting the flame stays the same size,I can get the part from Leisure Spares for about £12,local dealer wants £45/hr + vat and reckons it's a 2-3hr job??. It looks like the lead just plugs in but not sure if I need to disconnect gas pipes to get the oven out? At least I'm not alone in having a cr*p oven!
We had this problem in our Compass Omega and it was the huge gap in the seal at he top which allowed the heat out to heat the grill door handle up to branding temperatures, apparently a modification to allow oxygen in to allow the flame to stay lit according to the dealer I changed the seal for one without the gap the performance was better and the flame did not go out.
