My Alde 2921 boiler has started leaking Through the hot water exchanger! I first noticed a stain on something from the wardrobe it's fitted in, on looking closer saw paint lifting from the heater, and the water is leeching out ,bubbling very slowly from the metal body. PanicI It's not near any joint or weld its the plain metal leaking!

Sounds like it has corroded, I would contact Alde directly about that.

I've stripped back the paint and there are 2 pin prick holes weeping, so corrosion looks likely - any quick/temporary fixes? Otherwise it's a drain down and replace job I would think - gulp!

It's made from aluminium isn't it?    Try googling repairing aluminium, a few things come up.

Good idea Jennifer.

The hot water exchanger looks to be steel, but a rummage on the 'net and in the tool box unearthed some Plastic Padding leak-fix which should work on any material ( It's basically araldite ). Fingers crossed!!
