Hi, I have a Swift Conqueror 620 lux which I purchased second hand. After our first outing in it this weekend I have found the water pressure at the kitchen tap and shower tap is very low (both same type taps) However at the bathroom tap there is what seems to be fair water pressure (different type tap). I have tried another external pump but with no difference. However it is slightly better using the internal tank and pump but still very poor.
I would say there's a restriction in the pipe work / taps . Although this probably won't be easy to do , what i would do is disconnect one of the pipes going to the taps that are flowing poorly and then test the water pressure .
Also if your taps ( mixers ) are a lever type , have you tried lifting the lever . As far as i can remember lifting controls the amount of flow .
Come on wizard, do I look that daft that I wouldn't have lifted the lever?????
Second thoughts don't answer that......
No its not the lever but I can't see it being a restriction in the pipes as I believe they feed the other taps. Possible restriction in the taps/ceramic bit........come on guys .....HELP
Come on wizard, do I look that daft that I wouldn't have lifted the lever????? Not at all , but i think it's best to cover the basics .
I remember some posting that they couldn't get any water working in their caravan , they'ed filled the barrel , connected the pump , plugged in the hookup lead , but forgot to turn on the 12volt system .
If you remove the pipe to the tap you'll be able to prove weather the taps or pipes are causing the restriction . What make/model of water heater do you have ?
Hi Simon, If your mixer taps have a particle filter screwed into the end of the faucet take them of and give them a clean, i quite often get this on a service, usually find the filter on the tap is full of algae.
This was my reply (I had posted re high pressure pumps in the "equipment" section)
Hi, I have an external and internal tank and pumps. Ive now got a bit more pressure from the external pump by shutting the valve on the internal pump so that water is not getting into the internal tank pipework.
However I have had a caravan and motorhome in the past and both have had really good pressure (motorhome pressured system) but on the caravan that doesn't seem to be the case. None of the pipework seems to be kinked and I have changed the shower tap as it was leaking underneath.
Could it be the case that the water inlet that the external pump fits into could have a slight blockage and if so how would I get it clear. Possible airline and blow it through, but would that damage the Heater and pipework?????
it is possible that the non return valve in the carver 2 is restricted.odd times they block up completely.to test this remove the drain plug outside ( 5 ) and set up as normal to fill the system.have someone inside to switch on the pump,as it is filling and the pump running water should gush out of the drain plug hole.if it only flows slowly there is a blockage.the non reurn valve will need to be replaced.10
