I'm about to have ago at some sticky ( and damaged ) blinds, Searching on here has helped-as always, but the advice to lubricate them never seems to say with what! WD40,vaseline, goose fat,PTFE spray?? Help me!!
Thanks people, a good clean, and a sparing spray of silicone 'dry' lubricant has worked wonders! That link also made me decide to open the blinds and close the curtains whilst in storage!!
Thanx again,
Grandma was right-It can't be a stupid question if you need to know the answer!
I'd go with the silicone lubricant too.....I got some from Halfords, and used it on some old curtain rails in the house. Now they skoot along just fine!! The good thing with silicone is that it does not make your plastic go brittle the way WD40 can.
Spray a bit into the guides after cleaning them wiith a cotton bud, and around the ends of the rollers themselves.( They need to be taken down for this ).
