In my previous post I commented that I had a water leak somewhere. This was found to be the water heater which is now fixed.
However the back wall of the van has had damp problems obviously in the past as the wood is rotten to about 6 inches in height from the floor. I'm pretty sure this is related to the above water leak as this was where the water collected and the previous owners appeared to have just covered it up.
Anyway...I plan to replace the wall panel as fortunately the panel ends about 6 inches above the damp line. The problem I have though is that the damp has affected the floor where it meets the wall. Not in a big way, but it does mean a gap of about 2mm and about 15cm long when I look underneath at the back of the van. Can I paint something on to the edge or fill the gap with any time of preserve agent so that no water gets in from underneath after the repair?
Thanks for your help
