Does anyone know how to repair these cracks? Is it worth just using sealant, splashing out on repair, or perhaps arrange for plastic welding.
worth investigating,i have seen it done on a car and you cannot tell, would it work on a caravan? do not know.there is a tape you can buy but it only last three years and then needs changing.
I work for a company called the Plastic Surgeon based in Bovey Tracey, but have finishers all over Britain. I have repaired these cracks before in an Avondale dart for a dealer in Fife but i am in Scotland. Stewart on 07971 091379

There were a lot of Avondales with too thin panels back then, the usual place for them splitting was between the corners of the rear windows to awning rails.

They did a damp test, which was shown as slightly high, but not damp. I got the feeling that if saturated would have covered it by warranty immediately. Funny old world!
They are speaking to the warranty people and will hopefully ring tomorrow to let me know if its covered. Fingers crossed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I gather that the Discover 6 warranty doesn't cover. (I wonder if it actually covers anything!) Discover York though is considering its response before letting me know. So fingers crossed!
When we first brought our (second hand) Avondale Rialto home we noticed it had the same cracks (1-2inches in length) originating from the rail on the back panel so we immediately smeared sealant in them to stop the water getting in. It's difficult to know if this is cosmetic or whether it could cause damp issues. Does anyone have any experience with this? I'd be interested in how you get on Sceptre001.
The sales and aftercare package looks good. Their insurance policy described doesn't cover the problem (alledgedly!). I am now waiting to see if there "responsibility" does.
Originally cost £100, they then refunded as we found all our plates etc smashed in a box inside! By the time I got home one of the cracks has started to re propagate... also a dint on the side that looks like the size of a clamp.
the MD is ringing me by 10am in the morning.
When I raised the issue I was within the original 6 months of purchase. What can I expect from their customer service? Should I demand a full refund.
