I've got a Swift challenger 550 (think it's an 86 model) and there is a constant buzzing noise coming from the water pump as soon as the electric is turned on, is this normal? Sorry if it sounds like a daft question but our last van was a dry van and we don't know anything about ones with a water system. We bought the van a few wks ago and it wasn't making this noise then. We made the mistake of letting the kids have a play in there and this noise has appeared ever since.

The pump is running constantly. It may be faulty, a tap could be open, a tap could have a faulty switch, the pump may need adjusting etc.

Oops! just came out and in again and seen the other posters...thanks for all your help, i'll relay the info to hubby later. 

I'd guess this is an 'open' tap. I had the same thing when I first got my van. I've read since that it's not a good idea to leave your water pump running 'dry'. If all taps are full off, then I'd guess the microswitches (which are within the taps) could be stuck on. You could test this by first putting the pump into a bucket of water and see where it comes out.
