Hi all,

I have bought an Avondale Mayfair 545-6, 2004 6 berth, with no manual. For some reason I cannot find the switch over switch from batteries to mains. Anyone know were it is? The mains and all other switches etc are under the couch next to the sink, but no switch over switch.

Thank you

josel

Hi i don't think there is one we just connect the EHU and everything works on mains. When we have used the battery power for the lights while in a lay-by they work without switching anything. There is a pump and a main switch where you have found them but we only turn them off when its in storage.

The stuff that works on 230v does not also work on 12v, other than the fridge, so there is nothing to actually switch over.

on the fridge you can select gas, 230v or 12v, but the 12v should only work while you are actually towing.

strong feeling that the feed for 12v comes straight from the charger itself on yours, ours has a 12v mains switch but not all do.

the only silly question is the one you do not ask.

We can overide the crossover by a switch on the power pack... but we have a wall mounted crossover as well... seems strange that a van of that age hasnt got one.. theyre usually near the zig unit. check your underbed power pack, as this provides the power to your appliances, whether its 230 or 12v  your van should be able to be self suficient and not relying on 230.

we need to be self sufficient while we are out, and rely on 12v & Gas

Some of the lights are 12v and there is a 12v socket and they work on 12v when the mains is not connected there is no switch.

We have the same van
