why in this day and age there is not enough electric sockets to cope with the all the apliances that you use while your away i mean about sat, freeview. tv, microwave kids games, ect, theres not enough sockets to use . iv had to make more sockets to cope with the increasing demand.
so why do the makers only give about 2/3 sockets to use even new caravans.
We do the same as Kenles suggests because it would not be practical to have enough sockets built into the van. I use a 4 gang trailing socket but I shortened the lead to make it tidier
we have fitted 2 extra sockets, and are still deciding where to fit a 3rd one. plus we have wired in a 6 way strip and screwed it to the floor behind the drop flap at the base of the front chest, very handy for small things like phone chargers.
the van came with only 3 fitted sockets inside, which was actually one less than our 1998 van, most odd.
lights are another thing that most manufacturers need to consider more. there were no lights over the hob, and only one strip light to illuminate the whole worktop area. we also found that the front roof lockers made it dingy when using the flip over front table. a quick trip to Ikea soon sorted both these areas with 3 halogen downlighters at the front and 2 very slim LED lamps over the hob
I have a good number of sockets in my van, 3 doubles and 2 singles, and a 16A outlet under the van for the awning.
to remove as many trailing wires as possible as we have 2 small children.
theres 2 things that spring to mind, one is cost, more sockets, more cost, and theres only 16A to play with at the most anyway.
all my lighting (bar one) is 12V including that I have added, so I can still use them if I have no leccy.
