Hi all,
I am nearing completion of restoring a 1988 Abbey Stafford. It was a trade in where I work (selling static caravans). It had a damp problem at the rear so I have removed every rail (awning, seams and roof seam) and resealed them all with roll mastic and Silkaflex. I have replaced a few panels and odds and ends inside. I also cured the springy floor just inside the door using the floor repair mixture that you syringe into pre-drilled holes. (Many many thanks to the fixit club for their guides, pictures and tips).
The interior is in very good condition, everything works as it should. It just needs a new carpet fitted and a full exterior valet and she is ready to go!
The accessories (water & waste hogs, new battery, new tyres and a stabilizer) actually cost me twice as much as the caravan.
Short trip to Lake Bala in Whitsun for a practice run, then the world is my oyster! (Well, the UK for starters). Have camped for many years, but needing a little more comfort now I'm in my forties!
