I dont know if I am being really thick here but here goes....

We bought our series 6 senator virginia last autumn and I have never been able to get a picture on the DVD. It is a bailey factory fitted CD/DVD/radio and came with a flat screen TV.

I assume you use the yellow, red and white leads in the TV and plug into the sockets near the aerial in the caravan (there is nowhere else for them to go!) Then I put the TV on the av channel. I get no picture but do get sound through the caravan speakers.

The caravan went back to the dealers this week for some snags and this was one of them. The dealer found no fault and said they had it working but when I arrived home I still couldnt get a picture. When I rang them they assured me they had it working and thought I was not setting it up properly but couldnt tell me where I was going wrong over the phone.. As it is a 60 mile round trip back to the dealers(who I am miffed with) I wondered if anyone could tell an apparently dumb female where she is going wrong as we are meant to be setting off this weekend and really dont fancy unplugging our dvd player and setting it up in the van!!

Many thanks in advance for really simple instructions

Hi, we have an SEnator 6 Louisiana and set ours up the following way ( I think) set the T.V up to recieve normal piccys through the van aerial, by tuning it in normally, fit the leads to the wall plugs and switch on DvD player, put disc in and using the remote set to play, tune in DVD via the Av. mode on the telly. (we only used the telly that came with the van once, its very poor and isnt a text model) so try that, if that dont work have a word with the nice people at Bailey tech department/customer service regards S/C

Hi jo_b

You may find that when you switch tv to AV channel the tv is looking for freeview or DVD player using SCART lead ( funny shape connector with 21 pins ) press on the tv input button or av button and scroll through as you may find dvd listed as AV 2  etc . you cannot break anything just have a play .

Hi guys many thanks for the advice, just had a play about and I am pleased to report that perhaps I am not as thick as I first thought.. It appears that I can get a picture and sound in the bedroom using the bedroom connections but in the lounge I just get sound. Obviously there is some problem with connection in lounge?? Shouldve thought to do this weeks ago!!

My next question is is it easy to do this or is it best left to the people in the know? I really begrudge taking it back to the dealers who I think shouldve checked this out thoroughly when I bought van and also when it went in last week. I am seriously thinking about finding another bailey dealership when first service is due..but anyway.. At least kids will be able to take films this weekend although I reckon as they will be lying in our bed watching it I will end up with a bed full of crumbs..

Cheers Jo
