One of the tricks of the trade would be to use toothpaste on the scratches!!!! 

only works on minor scratches and so does brasso.i have a broken window from a scrapper and try out all the different things i can use.this way i can scratch the window and spend time removing it.for deep scratches you can use wet a dry paper to remove the scratch before polishing.not tried that yet.saves doing damage to my van windows if i try it first.also tried scratch remover for cars found this a bit harsh and it induced more scratches.do not over do it the window will get too thin.

The point about all these options is they vary in how abrasive they are, brasso and toothpaste will be very gentle, T-Cut will be more harsh and scratch remover harsher still.

So better to start off with brasso and if you find yourself getting bored!... try one of the harsher options 

When I was in the RAF we used to polish the plastic canopies of jet trainers with Goddards or Greygate's plastic polish. Fantastic stuff and will remove any  light scratching with a bit of polishing. I still have a bottle and its often used on my caravan after a trip down narrow country lanes!

I dont know if you can still get it but try Ebay or Google it.
