I asked the supplying dealer why I was having issues with the batteries when the caravan was 9 months old and was told that the battery I was using was a cheap item! Well they sold me it! I replaced it with an expensive 110ah one which eventually went the same way. Once, when I asked why I was having issues they suggested that I was leaving the battery charger on while on a hook up, which they said was not approved!
This time I've had the expensive 'vebattery tested and fully charged; all proved to be OK, so I fitted it to the caravan and got five days of problem free holidays, but then it went duff again!
I refitted the battery and checked the 'Test' button, which showed 12.9v, switched on the charger and it didn't move so disconnected the terminals and checked the output and as I said, 1.9 and dropping.

Can you advise costs to replace the unit please? PM if required. ...and Merry Christmas!

Jake

You do not state the exact make/model of charger in your swift? There are several fitted over the years!

It's a Nordic Electronica, fitted to a 2008 Sterling Europa 460, probably built 2007.

As might have already been mentioned in the previous posts, Apuljack Engineering will upgrade these units to eliminate the seemingly inherent design flaws.

Swift replied to my email today and dismissed my request for assistance out of hand, despite my explaining that from the time we bought the Europa brand new we've had a problem with the battery charging. Seems Kirkcaldy Caravans has never made a warranty claim about it, which is no surprise as they fobbed me off with this every time I mentioned it.
Now Swift say they won't do anything as any dault will be fair wear and tear!
They say Nordic are out of business and the Sargeant system is what will replace it, and at my expense of course.
There is no way that we'll be buying any Swift product in future.....and as for Kirkcaldy Caravans........Don't get me started!

Sargent website.
I have had some need to contact them over an issue recently, and their support has been excellent.

I have a feeling that I may be having a similar issue in my 2006 Swift Challenger 520.
Because I have read so much stuff on the matter, I have now become a little confused, so need a little help please.
I think the reason for the confusion is that Mr A refers to it a one thing and Mr B refers to it as another and then Mr Techie comes along and completely muddies the water with something that no lay-man could ever hope to understand!!

Please have a look at this photo first -https://www.portablepowertech.com/product/ne2006a-cws-consumer-unit

OK, with that photo in mind, is the item in this image ...
a) just a consumer unit
b) consumer unit & charger
c) other

If this isn't the charger, where is the charger?
I have been in all the seat-boxes and I can't find anything else that looks like it may be a charger; with the exception of the Sergeant AS210 Alarm.
