For test purposes it's safe to run the cascade on gas for up to 30 seconds without water, not a good idea to try this on electric though!
I was going to next suggest you remove the outer flue cover and the burner cover plate underneath, once the burners exposed you can see what if anything is happening when it trys to light.
You will need to do this to remove the module, you will then find two pozi screws very low down under the gas valve on the right hand side.
This is also the gas connection so gas off first, unscrew the screws and the module slides out, if it's jammed then the black box lid inside will have popped open and you will need go inside andt squeeze this shut to get it started through the slot. Once out you can then unplug the connection to the control switch.
Replacement is a reversal but remember to lift the left end of the burner before you finish tightening the screws, this will make sure the foam seal at the back of the burner is as high as it wants to go (without force) and makes a good seal when the screws are tight.
