I have a Trumatic S3002 gas heater fitted, (with blow air heating ststem) the problem is that the pilot light will work but the unit does not fully fire up (as it did up to this month).
The gas valve piston is sticking preventing it coming up when you release the control knob, solution is to service the gas valve or as most fitters insist, replace it.
Either way is not as straight forward a it looks and should be left to an expert, under no circumstances should you try using WD40 or the like to free it
Whilst I'm sure you are right sometimes it does light but after a few minutes returns to pilot (last night it ran for over an hour then dropped back to pilot).
easy , wd40 is a oil , you have fault so you spray the piston with oil , it could block the pilot jet up , or knacker the seals on what works making it even more unsafe or you could have a nice open fire in the van when the oil ignites
I guess I'll call a gas engineer, I'll let you know what the answer is, although it will take a few weeks as we are not going to the van for a few weeks.
i think cms goes up to whitby, also a chap on here dave101 , he knows his truma stuff , also thres a moble lad based in bridlington but not sure if thes still at it
iam up there at the end off june if you get stuck
when you book someone just check that he knows his stuff , if hes had truma traning he will have cert to prove that , gas training is a good thing to check for too , ask for proof as theres a lot off cowboys appered in the last few weeks on the east coast.
Well as the weather is now warmer there is no great rush for the repair (if it gets cold I'll use an electric heater). So if anyone has contact numbers for engineers it would be helpful.
I'm next at the van 27th April then usually about twice a month until September.
