Forgive me if I am going over old ground, I have 3yr old Elldis serviced every year, last July while on holiday gas supply failed, I thought must be out of gas yet when I checked THE bottle was half full I did the usual checks and found out that the bulkhead pressure regulator was faulty so paid out £39.00 for new one and fitted it, problem sorted till this Easter while away gas supply failed again same fault .I now find out this is a regular fault on bulkhead fitted regulators and that Calor issued a Tecnical Bulletin in Oct 2006 that advising that these be fitted ABOVE not level or below gas bottles I,ve had 2 services, 1 PDI and yet no one at service depart has informed me of this ,how many more vans post 2004 have this fault,I cant wait to get to dealers regards doolz
I had mine fail about a year ago ,when it was cold outside , i tried it later on that day when it had warmed up and it started working again . So don't throw your old one out unless your sure it still doesn't work . I have since moved my regulator higher up . Pics Here before and after .
Hi, Ive checked the regulator and it is a Truma, so will move it to above the gas bottles and try it again if no joy spend another £40 to replace so much for agents ,is it worth paying out £150 plus for a service? thanks for replies .Wizard looks a superb job you,ve done on the damp regards doolz
Thanks for that Thwack(and Gary) thats a big saving on the Truma regulator will be ordering one Thurs along with 400mm hose to take it above the regulator thanks again doolz
