Today we went to get a replacement shower tap for our caravan as the other  had split and caused a leak.  The cost of a new one from Swift was a whopping £135.00 + VAT!!!  I was shocked at the cost.

In the end we have purchased one off the shelf that should be the same, the guys at Kimberley Caravans said we can return it, if its not right.  This one cost £50, which I still think is exspensive for what the part is (All plastic).  Lets hope it fits!

Add the word caravan or camping to any item and the cost instantly triples compared to a normal household appliance!

I think the costs for a lot of items are just outrageous but they have you over a barrel.

I agree.   Its annoying as we hardly ever use the shower, we always use the facilities on site.  Also the part of the tap was behind a sealed unit, so its not been knocked by us.  The caravan is a 2005 model, not exactly old in my book!

The only cause we can think of is frost over winter.  We did drain everything too.  I just think the price is a rip off for a bit of plastic.  Moan over :-)
