I read that to replace damp/damaged internal boards you should use 3mm ply ,all i can get hold of is 4mm ,will that extra 1mm make life diffecult or should i hunt out the 3mm.
hi, if you go to a builders merchants and explain what you need they might give you the 3mm which protects the doors in transit,i know they only put in the skip once they unpack the doors.hope this might help.
------------- its easy enough to be pleasant when the world rolls along like a song.but a man is worth while if he can smile when every thing goes f------ wrong.
I would say it's better to use 3mm if you can , or 3.6mm . If you start going above this you may find the window seal rubbers get a bit tight when refitting . Also it won't be as flexable .
Surely you will want 3mm faced ply with a pattern that's as near to the original as possible. You could try your dealer or O'Leary Motorhomes or Magnum Mobiles.
i knows a place don`t no if they still got some but you could try Harlow Bros Ltd.
when i had to remake our door i had to use thinner timbers and 4mm marine ply to get the same thickness to fit the frame, ok was .4mm still to thick but a quick sand down job done and will outlast the unit.

Anyone know how much an 8x4 (foot) sheet of the proper 3mm covered board costs?
My local place sells it for £50.00, I've seen it online for nearer £30.00.
I bought a sheet of 4mm ply from our wod yard for about £9.00 and varnished it (looks quite nice ) but have found out the hard way that the window rubbers won't fit properly.
I'm back down today with a power planer to skim the outer frame down.
