Hi everyone
I was just wondering if anyone else has been having problems with the taps on their Explorer Group caravan.
After the last trip last year I did the usual winterising ie complete drain and taps left open. At the end of Feb this year in preparation for our first trip of the year I decided to have a check through the van and prime the water system, only to find to my horror that the kitchen and bathroom taps had both blown leaking water everywhere. When this was explained to Explorer group, they at first tried to blame frost damage, but when pushed further admitted they had been having a few problems with the taps so said it would be covered under warranty. However they would not replce the taps, instead would only be sending a repair kit. I am still waiting for the repair kit after 10 weeks, although there is a glimmer of hope, as when I rang yet again today they said they should be receiving some tomorrow, the lady I spoke to said they had over 100 of these kits on order. This would seem to me to be a very wide spread problem.
Anyone else out there pulling their hair out?

I've had the same problem with the bathroom tap becoming a water fountain when the pump is switched on. Mine is a Dimatec single lever tap which is fitted to a 2008 Xplore 596 - I thought it was frost damage but since seeing the above I will be contacting Explorer as well.

Tel.No. for Explorer Group is 01207 699000 and ask for someone who deals with warranty claims. It may be best to go through your dealer or service centre because they will get a claim ref number which you will probably need to speak to Explorer direct. I got mine from my service centre when they were having no luck in getting the parts and I wanted to stir things up a bit! Seems to have worked as the parts have actually arrived at Explorer! Just need them to get to the service centre now.

Regards

Stessull

Explorer group contacted me direct with a parts number for my Service Centre to order - all with no quibble. Makes me think they now accept there maybe a problem with the taps.

THANKS FOR HELP

Guilly

Hope you have more luck than me in actually getting the parts. Explorer said they posted last Friday , but now Wednesday and my service centre has still not got them. This is not looking good as I go away on Friday.. Rang Explorer today to tell them they are a complete shambles and this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. If parts have not arrived tomorrow it is a letter to "Watchdog"!!!

Good luck

Stessull
