This is my first post, I have a van with lots of small holes in the alluminium skin. Has anyone had experience of this type of repair? I have had a go at repairing it,using car body filler, etching primer& caramatch top coat.
It has not been very successfull, as it has started to blister. I have done a lot of damp repair work to the inside, re sealed awning rails, new window rubbers. Damp meter is showing very little moisture in the inside the van. Maybe it has not dried out enough? Any help would be greatly appreciated. The van is a 1998 Swift Corniche 17/3.
thats rotting from the inside out had similar on our folding camper door, had to completely rebuild the door frame and re skin it using marine glue to be sure.
just my opinion for what its worth,if i was doing the repair i would try to reseal from inside using a thin sheet of rubber or damp seal membrane and a strong glue.this would seal from inside and then you could rub down the blisters and repaint.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
