The tap on my bathroom sink in my Jubilee Herald has stopped working.
Have disconnected the spade terminals from the micro switch under the sink and have tried bridging the cables - this still did not start the pump. I can run the tap by opening the shower tap which starts the pump. Any suggestions would be welcome.
You may need to do a continuity test and make sure that all the cables are intact. Can you trace the wiring and identify the wires at the pump end in a junction box?
push a straight pin into each cable at the top about 4 inch down from the micro switch.use a wire to touch together,if the pump runs it could well be a faulty blade or connection onto the micro switch.called a dry joint.if so it needs the connection redoing,by soldering or squashing together.

Disconnected the spade terminals under the sink and shorted the pump end spades together with no joy. Hadn't thought about perhaps corrosion on the spades or dry joints so will try probing along the line - thanks for those suggestions.
I had something similar yesterday, I was fitting a cd/radio which would cut out after a few minutes of running I continuity tested the live feed all was well, then continuity tested the negative, nothing! So I ran another negative from the battery, linked it up with the fault lead (to make sure any return required was acting both sides of the break) and all is now well
i would think it should be 12v as this is what the pump runs on. when you touch the wires together you are just making a loop which is what the switch does.

That's what I thought Michael but I'm reading 2.6V when I probe across the two wires - wondering is there is some sort of ballast resistor in the circuit?
sounds like a cut in the cable cable or a trapped cable.make sure the fuses are clean on the metal ends.never know of a ballast resistor in the circuit of a caravan.check also at the fuse end,is there 12v when touching each side of the fuse? if so and its only 2.6v at the other ends then you may need to run another wire and cut out the old one.
