Hiya Bangor, You should only change the pads if needed, You can check them on the indactors on the hitch ,{ the two arrows } they will tell you how much wear you have on the pads. give your tow ball a rub down with emery cloth to remove any grease and rubbish. and you can spray brake cleaner on the pads to remove any grease and debris and thats about it Dead easy......... regards Dan
