Just returned from a weekend away and have discovered that the fridge has a problem working on gas, it works normally on 12v and 230v.
The fridge will light up when the number dial is fully turned up and i press the igniter however as soon as i take my finger of the igniter the frige switches off.
ok ill probably get it checked out on it's next service. I've changed plenty of thermo couplings before but not on gas equipment. I don't suppose it's easy to get to, would it be accessable through the vents or is it a fridge out job?
I'm not corgi registered (obviously) so wouldn't mess with gas but would just like to know so i can save up if it's a biggy
Fridge out I'm afraid. They will more than likely give it a full service (I would have done). Phone your local dealer, they probably have a fixed price and the thermocouple should be around £30.
First set the knob to the required position and then pull it off? and try lighting it without the knob.
If it holds on now then put a thin spacer in the back of the knob and it will then work fine, what it is, is the knobs touching the fascia before pushing the magnet in contact with the thermocouple.
Thanks for the replies i tried the no knob technique worked once out of about 20 attempts. Took the vents of the side of the van and there were slight soot marks around the exhaust.
In which case it's a poor flame that's the problem and still probably not the thermocouple, likely reasons are; a partial blocked flue pipe, rust falling from the flue pipe blocking the burner, the tube leading to the burner from the gas pipe connection corroded, or perhaps a worn jet
Hi we have just had to have our new fridge freezer serviced after finding fault whilst on holiday. It was caused by using the wrong hoses. We have been advised to get braided hoses but are having problems locating these. Have been to the local calor dealer ins Southampton and Towsure - any suggestions where we might get such with the connections - but dont need regulators.
