Hi
When a fence panel fell against my van I bought a plastic vent and fitted it over the dent. I later dented the side of a van on a wall on a campsite in France. I managed to get a small sheet of matching skin from my dealer and bought a wet locker door and frame . I cut the hole for the door in the side of the van, fitted the skin and cut out in to the locker door, screwed the locker in place. Job done

There is a company called Caravan Wizard who do small repairs, seen them advertised, try googling or yellow pages. I think they are possibly franchises.

In the short term to be really safe from damp ingress cover it with "gaffer/duct/duck" tape; this can be obtained in a white.
However don't leave it on for more than a couple of months as its adhesive could discolour the paint, which might add to your problems

Have you any insurance on the caravan? How about claiming on the insurance which hopefully should give you a gaurantee against damp for the repair.

Nah you didn't the accident happened the day after the insurance was arranged, I'm sure you remember now. Ring them up and tell them what has happened it will cost you the £50 or so excess but they will sort it out, it might take them 6 months or more to get the job done but they will do it.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013

If you do happen to use this tape, I would recommend renewing it every few weeks, because I used it on a section of damage that I had, left it for about four or five months, and had a terrible job trying to remove the adhesive.

That's a good idea that vent suggestion, we had to battle a storm last year and the awning pole pocked a small hole in the side skin, extra ventilation wont go amiss
