Hi, how hard is it to repair the wood under the door step. On removal of carpet in side the door the frame of wood is rotten it appears to stop near the wheel arch and starts next to the fridge , the floor is OK as far as i can see , just wondered if any one done a repair of similar sorts . cheers carole

i did both my daughters and my avondale.there is a link on wizards site.but it was fairly easy.  i repaired from underneath.first i removed the skirt rail.this covers the screws that hold the batten to the floor  i eased the side panel gently away from the timber.under the caravan i cut thro the ply with a stanley knife then dug out the rotten timber.cleaned thoroughly.cut timber to length.heres the messy bit i covered the top and sides of the batten with sikaflex.pushed up in place then re screwed with 75 mm screws through side of van into main floor timber.once this was inplace i capped it underneath with a strip of exterior ply. again with sikaflex and screws.then i replaced skirt rails with mastic tape and screws.

Hey, cheers for that, hope weather keeps fine this weekend so can crack on with it now. Cant believe  just how flimsy they are under neath.New to this caravan bit so will be searching this site quite offten . Thanks again for info xx
