W4 mastic on a roll comes in two widths, you can get both from Towsure. We have resealed several rails on our caravan, we used mastic on a roll to stick to the underside of the rail, then when we have stuck and screwed rail back into place with W4 attached, we then run a thin bead of sikaflex along the outside edges, just to be sure. Use meths (in my opinion works better than white spirit) to clean up any unwanted mastic that is left on the caravan before sticking rail back on and also to tidy up if any mastic squeezes out where you do not want it to show.
Make sure you have plenty of time to do each rail, it taken us about 2-3 hours to do each one, cleaning off the old mastic is what takes the time.
Do not drop rail onto the grass when mastic roll is applied, like i did, it took me ages to pick off the grass!!!
You need some old rags, non fluffy old cotton/linen tea towels worked for us, a small metal bowl or non melting plastic bowl to put meths into, a small flat bladed screwdriver to get old mastic off the rail, blunt scraper to get old mastic off caravan, and a lot of elbow grease.
It is very satisfying when you have completed to know that you caravan should now be water tight for some time to come.
Good luck.
