On the campsite where I work voluntary we have recently bought a second hand plant type trailer we guessing it's from the late 70's early 80's it's not been used for 15+ year's however it's been stored in a garage nice and dry. We had a good look at it this weekend starting with stripping the 4 hub's down checking the brake's fresh grease on the bearing's etc. The first real problem is adjusting the brake's the adjuster at the front in between the A frame is seized up we had a go at freeing it up but it's past it. The only one's I can find online are for cable type braking system's on this trailer they are steel rod's threaded at each end. Unusually there's no number plate light on this thing and no sign of there ever being one but that's not a difficult job. there's a running light on each mudguard with a small tail-light size bulb but it's a type I've not seen before both pole's are at the bottom like a combined brake/tail bulb yet there's only one filament in the bulb do they still make these anymore? The tyre's are size 6.40 x 13 I search for this online and get vintage/classic car tyre size's from what I can work out they are 165 x 13's I think. the easiest job of the lot is replacing the jockey wheel, it look's like the last owner's have towed it at some point without raising it up properley and bent it beyond belief. £13.95 for a 34mm replacement rated at 1 tonne from Towsure bargain!!! I know this is not a camping type trailer but I'm just wandering if anyone can offer us some advice. Many thank's.
