Hi  we were on our way to holiday in Dartmouth so though we'd start earlt in the morning to miss the traffic but after driving for  about 5 mins and the tail lights and running lights went out,the indicators and brake lights still worked OK. so we went home waited until it was light and started again.

I got home and I've checked the plug and all looks ok, but we i put a meter on the towbar connection with the light gone out there doesn't appear to be any power.

Any help would be much appreciated

simon could be right, also check your number plate lights on your car to as these can run on a seperate circuit and its been known for people to use this circuit for caravan main lights

the rear lights seem to be working now as i've disconnected the 6 running lights ( 3 each side) . I don't know if these could overload the "circuit", but  i'm going to check more thoroughly next weekend
