hi guys can anyone help? ive just come back from the east coast after 2 weeks in my abbey vogue 470, whilst away my wife turned the extractor fan on full speed then by mistake turned it in reverse as u can guess it stopped working ,ive checked the fuses and the inline battery fuse and they all seem ok ( i think) any ideas of what could be the problem
------------- big al9 says enjoy everything.
were not here for long
When we had our new van and used the extractor fan for the first time we turned it on full power straight away - and the fan stopped. After reading the van's manual I found out that this blew the fuse. When I replaced the fuse and used the low setting first - IT WORKED A TREAT
Sounds as if you could have damaged the drive mechanism. I imagine this must happen quite a lot but not sure how much it would cost to repair. If its the Omnivent its fairly easy to remove. Have a chat with your dealer.
Happens regularly when my back is turned. On mine the fuse is located in the main fuse box. The fuse should blow long before any damage is caused to the fan. If you haven't got a wiring diagram, or like most of us, cannot make head nor tail of it, replace each fuse in turn until you find the right one.
